As a makeup and hair artist based in Denver, Colorado she’s taken that desire to connect and turned it to an industry not known for its authenticity. She aims to change that. Fusing her love of beauty with connecting and empowering women, Chaundra is poised to reshape the standard of glamour in Colorado!
As an artist, Chaundra has been working for over a decade, two decades if you include her earliest years spent in mom’s bathroom trying to “glamorize” herself and her friends. She has experience with special effects makeup and drama, but her personal favorite is natural-beauty looks where she can showcase and highlight her clients' most precious asset - themselves! Wedding and Headshot artistry are areas where she truly thrives.
Originally from Littleton, CO, Chaundra began her career in hair and makeup as an extension of her love of the stage. As a graduate University of Northern Colorado’s prestigious Musical Theatre program she had the opportunity to take a phenomenal stage makeup class which introduced her to the power of makeup. While working as a professional actor in Denver she sought out further knowledge via master classes and workshops. In 2007 she made the move to NYC to experience the Big Apple and it was there that she began her professional makeup career with M.A.C. Cosmetics on 5th Avenue. This gave her the opportunity to work with amazing, seasoned, artists as well as varied clientele from all over the world.
She worked for M.A.C. for 7 years and during that time worked her way up to become a counter manager, earned her certification to teach application master classes, became a member of the M.A.C. Dream Team and received extensive application and trend training for all ethnicities.
As her experiences as a makeup artist grew, she continued to seek out new opportunities to hone her skills and build her clientele, eventually transitioning into a full-time freelance artist, and adding hairstyling to her services. In this role she was able to work on everything from print, web, runway, on-camera and special events. Throughout this time she continued building relationships with headshot and wedding photographers, and wowing brides with customized “natural glam” beauty looks.
During her time as a professional artist in NYC, Chaundra was grateful to participate in many amazing events including NY fashion week, film and television projects, Broadway Bares, and theatrical design for Off Broadway shows and festivals.
In February of 2018 she and her husband returned to Colorado to have their daughter, Waverly. Licensure in Colorado is different than New York, so she went back to school and received her esthetics license in 2018 and her cosmetology license in 2019. Chaundra looks forward to sharing her extensive knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm for makeup with the amazing people of Colorado!
